Chansons is Perth’s own chamber choir, made up of about 40 singers drawn from across Perth & Kinross and Fife. We perform a varied and exciting musical repertoire from glorious baroque masterpieces to ‘Zimbe! Come sing the songs of Africa!’ by Alexander L’Estrange supported by a jazz ensemble.

As a singer…

​If you are a singer then you will find the choir welcoming and friendly. We encourage enquiries from singers whether you are returning to singing or an experienced choral singer.

Currently we are actively recruiting Tenors and Altos.

You can find details of how to contact us here. As a new singer you will be invited to join us for a rehearsal to meet the choir which gives you an opportunity to get a feel for the way we work. If you enjoy the experience then our Musical Director, Areti Lymperopoulou, will arrange an audition.

As a concert goer…

There is no finer instrument than the human voice as witnessed by the huge range of choral music that has been composed across the ages, right up to the modern day. Our concerts are usually themed around a particular style, period or season. You may hear music from the renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic periods or perhaps the latest Lauridsen, Whitacre or Gjeilo. What you will hear is choral chamber music sung to a very high standard in some fabulous venues with acoustics that enhance and add to the sound.

We perform a minimum 3 concerts a year at various of Perth’s great venues, including St John’s Kirk and St Ninian’s Cathedral with their wonderful acoustics. Occasionally we go out on tour and perform wider afield in neighbouring towns and villages.​
