Originally from Patra in western Greece, Scotland has been Areti’s home since 2008. Areti first studied Conducting at the Kodály Institute in Hungary under Péter Erdei and Katalin Kiss and then graduated with an MMus in Choral Conducting from the (now Royal) Birmingham Conservatoire, under Paul Spicer. She moved to Scotland to train as a secondary music teacher and is now a member of the Music Department at Dollar Academy. She boasts extensive experience with both youth and adult choirs, from community ensembles, to working as a choral coach for the National Girls’ Choir, as well as holding the Sir Alexander Gibson Fellowship of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus for two seasons. Areti was appointed Musical Director of Chansons in 2019.
